Our Nueces River fly fishing packages are headquartered at
Shane Hearn's Lodge overlooking this crystal clear river.  Shane Hearn's "Smuggler's Cove Lodge" is situated on a ranch south of
Uvalde, TX. It's made of native limestone with three bedrooms, four fireplaces, two bathrooms, and a large dining
area. It can sleep up to 15 people utilizing the comfortable bunk beds.
This is the perfect place for fly fishing clubs, corporate retreats, or family reunions.
The Nueces River has healthy numbers of largemouth and guadalupe bass.
It has numerous sunfish species and spotted gar that readily sip yellow poppers from the surface. The Nueces is in fine shape right now, with many miles of floatable water.
It is best accessed floating in rafts or kayaks. There are numerous low water crossings giving good public put-ins or take outs. All trips, catch and release only with fly and artificial lure restrictions.
